Whether it's a slow drip you've been ignoring or a section of shingles the wind just took, Roof Repair Smedway sends licensed Roofing technicians throughout Amherst, MA to look at it properly, not guess over the phone.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Amherst, MA, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
Every lead technician we send to a Amherst property carries current Amherst, MA licensing and full insurance, and we'll produce that paperwork before you ask twice.
A roof repair that's "close enough" tends to fail again within a year, usually during the exact storm it was supposed to handle. We don't build that way.
Proof of licensing before the first ladder goes up.
Someone answers, every time, day or night.
You approve a number before the crew touches your roof.
Crews dispatched from within Amherst, MA, not another region entirely.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
None of the six signs below require an emergency call on their own, but each one is worth a scheduled inspection before it turns into something bigger.
Shingles shed their protective granules as they wear down, and a gutter full of grit is an early tell.
A cupped shingle traps moisture instead of shedding it, which speeds up decking rot underneath.
Daylight visible through the attic roof boards means water has the same path in.
Sagging or soft drywall usually points to sustained moisture, not a single isolated drip.
Rooms that run noticeably hotter than the rest of the house often trace back to roof or attic issues.
A bare patch after high wind is a direct gap in your roof's weather barrier that needs covering right away.
We split our work into specific service lanes because a wind-lifted shingle and a full system replacement need completely different crews and timelines.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Amherst, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
Flat roofs get scheduled inspections in addition to repair calls, catching ponding-water problems early.
A full tear-off strips the roof to the decking, replaces any damaged boards, and rebuilds with new underlayment and shingles to current code.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners documented evidence, useful whether or not a claim gets filed.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Four steps, no surprises in between — here's exactly what happens after you pick up the phone.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
A technician walks the roof and, when accessible, checks the attic side for the full picture.
An itemized estimate is delivered before any work starts, covering materials, labor, and cleanup.
Warranty paperwork is handed over the same day the job wraps.
If you've been burned by a roofing company before, these are the specific things we do differently, not just a promise that we're "better."
Being local means we're rarely the crew still driving in from somewhere else.
The number you approve in writing is the number on your final invoice, barring an approved scope change.
Our installers follow manufacturer spec on every underlayment overlap and fastener pattern, not general guesswork.
Every job includes a written labor warranty separate from the shingle manufacturer's coverage.
We're not your insurance company, but we make that part of the process easier.
Some roofs need a full reroof; plenty just need one honest repair.
Every job closes with a written workmanship guarantee, separate from whatever the material manufacturer already covers — if something's wrong, we come back and fix it.
No surprise line items appear after the fact; anything that changes the scope gets discussed with you directly.
None of this is a marketing line — it's how every Amherst job actually gets closed out, warranty paperwork included.
Roof Repair Smedway dispatches Roofing crews throughout Amherst and the surrounding communities across Amherst, MA, with coverage available further out on request.
Because our crews already know Amherst's layout, we rarely lose time to a wrong-turn delay that out-of-area companies deal with constantly.
We'd rather confirm coverage on a quick call than have a homeowner assume they're out of range and skip calling entirely.
